Enhance Technology Skills

Your teen probably knows how to use many computer programs and apps. But does your student have these important tech skills?

• Judgment. Can your teen tell if a website is a reliable source? Help your student look for clues to determine if the site is presenting facts or opinions, and if it is credible and up-to-date.
• Planning. Ask how your teen plans to use the information found in an online search or by asking a chatbot.
• Creativity. Suggest that your teen find out about different digital tools and ways to present material beyond the basic slideshow.
• Problem-solving. When technology issues crop up, encourage your teen to think of solutions to try before asking you for help.
