Sometimes ‘Leave Me Alone’ Means Something Else

Does the command “Leave me alone!” sound familiar? Many teens use this phrase often. While kids this age do need more privacy, sometimes this statement is just a sign of frustration.

If you sense this is the case, let your teen know you’re there to listen. Try picking up on what your teen might be feeling. Say, “You seem upset about something. Can I help?”
