Today's Tip for Families
International travel is expensive and complicated by the pandemic. Luckily, a pretend trip can be just as much fun for your child as a real one. You and your family can "visit" Italy, Thailand, Argentina or anywhere else ... by way of the public library and the internet.
For example, your family could check out travel books on Italy. Let each family member gather information about different sites, either from the books or online. Then plan a night for your “trip” (really a special dinner).
Mom and Dad can make dishes from recipes found in an Italian cookbook. The kids can draw pictures of the Italian flag to decorate the table.
During the meal, discuss interesting facts each of you has learned from your reading.
