Help Your Child Make a Puzzle

Help Your Child Make a Puzzle

Putting together a jigsaw puzzle teaches children many skills they also need in school, such as spatial thinking, logic and pattern recognition. And making the puzzles together at home adds an element of creativity.

Gather some catalogs, magazines or advertisements with interesting pictures. Then, have your child:

  1. Cut out pictures.
  2. Glue them onto pieces of cardboard.
  3. Cut each picture into puzzle pieces.
  4. Mix them up and put them together again.

Puzzles are also a good birthday gift for an older child to make for a younger sibling.
