Make School Attendance Priority Number One

The school is responsible for teaching your child. But the teachers can't do that if your child is not in class.

School attendance is required by law. That's because learning builds day by day. A child who misses a day of school also misses a day of learning. And it can be difficult to catch up. As early as kindergarten, absences are linked to lower academic achievement.

Teach your child that school is a top priority. By building the habit of daily, on-time attendance, you'll reinforce the message that education is important. And your child will have every chance for school success.
