Afternoon Routines End Morning Confusion

Does your child always run late in the morning trying to find items she needs to take to school?

Designate a special area for your child's school materials. Have her decorate a box to hold them. As soon as the school day is over, have her go immediately to that box to unload.

At study time, she can get out what she needs to do her assignments. Completed work should go back in the box. If you give your child lunch money, that goes in the box, too.

Each evening, your child can pack what’s in the box into her backpack, ready for the morning. With this routine, trying to find that book or special paper won't make her late for school.
