Giving your child some choices about how to do assignments can make study time go smoothly. Doing the work is non-negotiable, but students should be able to decide:
Discuss these choices together and let your child decide what to do. If a choice doesn’t work out (your child plays outside until dark and then can’t get an assignment done), experiencing the consequences will make it clear that a different choice is needed next time.
