Help Your Child Cope With Boredom

Being able to use time productively contributes to students' success in school. Learning how to manage time to avoid boredom in their free time helps children develop this skill.

To support your child's efforts:

• Limit recreational screen time. Your child won't learn to self-entertain if TV and digital devices are always an option.
• Don't rush in to provide activities. Instead, express confidence in your child: "I know you can think of something to do."
• Monitor what's going on so you can help your child stay out of trouble.
