Make Reading a Comfortable, Fun and Frequent Activity

As Mark Twain once noted, a person who does not read books has no advantage over a person who cannot read them. Yet too many kids today spend almost no time reading outside of school.

These children are not only missing out on the worlds they can explore through books, they are making school more difficult than it needs to be. Kids who read regularly do better in school than kids who don't.

Telling children that they should read because it's good for them is not the best way to get them to pick up a book. Here are some better ways to motivate your child to read:
