Model Creative Problem-Solving

There is usually more than one way to solve a problem. And to solve some problems, you have to think outside the box. When kids learn this, they become better problem solvers.

Children learn creative thinking by watching others. When you have a problem to solve, think it through out loud. Let your child see you tackle problems in different ways. Regularly propose new solutions for old problems.

Don’t always go with the easy answer. Show your child that fresh thinking can turn up new approaches to solving a problem.
