Have Your Child Create a Sandwich Sensation

John Montagu, the 4^th Earl of Sandwich, was born on this day in 1718. Montagu, of course, gave his name to the famous food that is the centerpiece of many kids' lunches. For some culinary fun, celebrate Montagu's birthday by having your child invent a new sandwich today.

Here are some ideas to spur your child's creativity:

• Best tasting new sandwich.
• Most interesting sandwich that doesn't use meat.
• Tastiest sandwich with fruit.
• Most attractive new shape for a sandwich.
• Most innovative sandwich that doesn't use bread.

Make it clear before starting that your child will have to eat the sandwich. But say that if it looks good, you might eat it too!
