Create a Current Events Wall

Learning about current events helps children grow up to be informed adults. One way to keep your child in touch with what's happening in the world is by creating a current events wall together.

All you need is an old bulletin board.

Then encourage your child to:

• Look through news articles and cut out or print pictures and stories about people or events in the news.
• Pin or tape the pictures to the current events wall.
• Change the display every week or two.

Older children can put the stories in categories. They might focus on local, national and world stories. Or, they could choose stories about science, government, sports, or other categories that interest them.
