Simple Things Make a Difference
You don’t have to be a teacher to make a difference in your child’s education. There are lots of simple, yet meaningful, ways to do it:
- Smile at your child, even if you've had only a few hours’ sleep.
- Put encouraging notes where your child will find them during the day: on the bathroom mirror, in a lunch bag, on a pillow.
- Be there when your child needs you, and let your child do things independently when your help isn’t needed.
- Laugh at knock-knock jokes— even the zillionth time.
- Discipline with kindness and consistency.
- Accept that your child may not turn out exactly as you expected.
- Celebrate special moments, no matter how small.
- Say “I love you” to your child every day!
