Time management is a critical study skill for success in school. To help your child develop time management skills, buy or make a large calendar together. It should have plenty of room to write on the space for each day.
Encourage your child to mark important upcoming dates. Begin with the start of school, holidays, visits to the dentist and planned family outings. When school resumes, have your child add test dates and due dates for assignments—especially those that will take time to complete.
Build time into your child's daily routine to review the calendar. Your child will be able to see everything that's coming up. That will help your elementary schooler learn to schedule time wisely.
