Routines Cut Down Schoolwork Struggles
Assignments aren't high on most kids’ lists of fun things to do at home. But they don't have to be a hassle, either—especially if you implement a few study time routines:
- Feed your child. If your student is irritable or tired after school, hunger is a likely reason. Offer a healthy snack and your child may be better able to concentrate on schoolwork.
- Let your child blow off steam. Allow 30 minutes for running around outside before buckling down. Your child will be less fidgety after getting some exercise.
- Agree on a regular study time. Instead of just demanding that your child drop everything and do schoolwork, talk together about a time that would work best for your student and your family. Then, stick to the same time each day.
