Spread Out a Blanket to Promote Reading

A cozy blanket can be a great tool to promote family reading.

Spread a blanket, towel or comforter on the floor. Have your children each pick a book and lie on the blanket together. Then, start reading! You may need to do most of the reading at first, but as the children grow older, they will enjoy reading to everyone else.

Blanket reading time is a great way for families to spend quality time together. At the same time, it turns children into devoted readers.
