These days, even the youngest children know how to use a calculator. But it's still important that they be able to do math problems without one.
If your child is just learning math facts, or needs to brush up on facts taught earlier, make some flash cards together. Ask the teacher what math facts your child needs to master.
You and your child can use index cards to make flash cards. Write problems (9 x 3) on one side and answers (27) on the other. Then, vary the way you use the cards.
