Use a Calendar to Promote Responsibility

It can be a challenge to get kids to act responsibly. Here's how to use a calendar to foster this important school skill.

Make a list with your child of positive behaviors you expect to see from your child. Your list might include getting up on time, reading every day and putting belongings away after using them.

Each day, after showing those behaviors, your child earns a letter of the word “responsible.” Have your child write the letter on the calendar.

When the letters spell out R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-L-E, do something special together to celebrate.
