Enhance Your Child's Eagerness to Learn

Your child learns by watching you. What's more, the example you set can also have a positive effect on your child's desire to learn.

To foster a love of learning in your child:

Be a learner yourself. Let your child see you reading. Watch educational programs. Tackle new projects. Show curiosity.
Share what you learn. Talk about new ideas or scientific discoveries with your child. Discuss things you read or hear.
Believe your child can learn. Your faith will give your child confidence.
Show an interest in what your child is learning. Ask questions simply to learn and have a conversation, not just to quiz or check up on your child.
Never give up on your child. Help your elementary schooler see that problems can be solved.
