A happy family.

Build Family Pride and Connection

All families are unique. Because your family is not like anyone else's, your child has special things to be proud of. Explore them together in an activity that promotes family conversation and connection.

Give family members several pieces of paper. On the top, write some unfinished statements that can get everyone thinking about the special things about your family. Here are some examples:

Add other statements, based on your family's interests. Have everyone complete the sentences alone. Then, come back together to share what you've written.

You may find that everyone in the family takes special pride in one family tradition. Or, you may find that an activity you didn't think was particularly important matters a lot to your child.

This family exercise is an enjoyable way to strengthen your family ties and find out what you've done for your child that has made a difference.
